Project Overview

Overview: Live/Work is a small/scale residential building designed to extend available housing though the construction of a new accessory Dwelling Unit (ADU). This “urban infill” project minimizes resource and energy consumption through smart design, green building techniques, and a small footprint.

The new building will be a 2-story, 1708 sq. ft. building comprised of an upper living space and a lower “open space.” This open area is designed to be used as extended living quarters, a home office, or additional storage for residents above.

About ADUs: An ADU is a second dwelling unit created on a lot with a house. These buildings may be attached to the primary residence or built as separate dwellings. There are many uses for ADUs including:

  • Additional living space for residents
  • Living space to provide rental income
  • Guest quarters and vacation rentals

The Live/Work Concept: The driving idea behind this project is to develop a home that allows modest, comfortable living along with a flexible workspace. This open work area encourages entrepreneurial  and home-base business opportunities that build community and foster economic sustainability.
